RED ORCHESTRA (PC DVD)

Description

Rising Storm is the next game in the award-winning Red Orchestra franchise. With the same great gameplay, innovative features and realistic audio and graphics of Red Orchestra 2 , Rising Storm takes this to the Pacific Theatre, adding even more gameplay depth. Fight across iconic locations from the famous island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945, as the US Army and Marine Corps fight it out with the Imperial Japanese army and Special Naval Landing Forces. Experience beach assaults, jungle fighting, close quarters night fighting and more across Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan, among other historic hot spots. Take part of either side – American or Japanese – battling it out online in full player versus player mode on up to 64-player servers.

Rising Storm brings a complete new set of 6 multiplayer maps, plus more than 20 new weapons. These include the iconic US Garand, M1903 Springfield and the BAR; lesser-known Japanese weapons including Arisaka rifles, Type 100 SMG and the infamous “knee mortar”. And, of course, the flamethrower for the Americans. ,

Rising Storm takes you into the arena of asymmetric warfare: the American forces heavily equipped with automatic weapons, enabling them to put a lot more lead down-range than their Japanese opponents. The Japanese substitute raw courage, ferocity and some clever use of their existing equipment to compete. Using the knee mortar in both direct and indirect fire modes makes these weapons very lethal in the right hands. Grenades can be planted and turned into booby-traps for unwary GIs. The Japanese put very high store on close-quarter combat, with a bayonet on almost every weapon. The Banzai charge can be used in game to give the best possible chance of closing in to use bayonets and Katanas on their opponents.
